3. Liferaft
CAUTION:
Do not let puddles of cleaning solution stay on the liferaft. Too much
solvent can cause damage.
A. Wash the liferaft with a solution of hard soap and water.
B. Dry the liferaft with a clean, lint-free cloth.
C. Use toluene to remove any oil or similar substance. Wash and dry the area as given
in Steps A and B above.
4. Rigid Container
A. Wash the container outer surfaces with a solution of hard soap and water.
B. Perform the following anti-mold treatment on all rigid containers at the normal
overhaul period of the liferaft and on all containers that have been in damp storage
conditions:
1. Use a solution of hard soap and water to clean the inside of the container.
2. Mix a solution of Sodium Hypochlorite, (25 parts water to 1 part of the 14% to
15% solution).
3. Use a sponge to apply the solution evenly over the inner surface of the
container.
4. Let all surfaces dry before packing the liferafts into the container.
