3.3 Legs
unscrew the four nuts holding the front plate.
- remove the plate by pulling It fromwards.
- unscrew the rear leg fixation screws and take legs out.
3.4 Timing System Cover
unscrew the two remaining screws on the cover ta Fig.

lay engine down on its flywheel. and lift the swingers.
remove the cover by screwing

screws in the holes provided for this purpose In the
cover. (a Fig.

remove timing cover gasket and replace.
extract tHe cam shaft from timing c-011er after heating the cover to
70°C.
3.5 Governor
through the timing cover fixation screw holes. bring to match the split pins retaining the
governor spring onto the shaft.
drive out with a punch these split pins (Fig.
BB).
unscrew and remove screw 1<b1> and the lc)ck nut on governor fork.
remove the stop and throttle control levers.
screw in the maximum speed set screw, so as to clear the control shaft connecting rod.

drive out the control shaft with a copper drift.
put the engine upright.
jam the flywheel.
remove the timing pinion with a two· Jaw extractor.
recover the fork, the spring, the plastic washer. the bell shape. and life.governor balls.
the ball hub and the washer can only be recovered after extracting the crankshaft.
