Engine Board A/B
Circuit Checkout
As described in the paragraph Main Board Circuit Checkout , the Model
3162B is made of three boards. If one of the engine boards is removed from the
main board, reinstall it before continuing with the following checks. The
following circuit checks are performed on the engine boards A and B only.
Engine Board A/B
Checks
Problems with the engine board circuits can be detected if the Model 3162B
accepts word serial commands and responds correctly to word serial queries
but fails to generate correct waveforms. If there is a general problem with the
engine board circuits, download a 128-point square waveform to both channels
A and B, program the Model 3162B using the following remote commands, and
proceed with the checks given in Table 5-4.

Operation Checks
If there are problems with the shape of the output waveforms or if the output
waveforms are not generated at all, program the Model 3162B using the
following remote commands:

Download 128-point square waveforms to both channels A and B and proceed
with the checks given in Table 5-4.
