HOP
Operation: Hop table contains 256 hop frequencies. Hop advance source
may be selected from front panel, VXIbus triggers and front-panel D-sub
connector.
6. Configure the Model 3162B as follows:
Function: USER
Sample Clock: 300 MHz
Amplitude: 3 V
Remote Commands: :RES
:OUTP ON
:FUNC:MODE USER
:INIT:CONT OFF
:FREQ 300e6
:VOLT 3
:FREQ:MODE HOP

7. Using WaveCAD, or any other waveform generation program, load
segment 1 with a 32-point waveform.
8. Connect the output from the Model 3162B to the oscilloscope and set
the oscilloscope to display the waveform. Verify that carrier frequency
of 9.375 MHz is displayed.
9. Connect the 8021 trigger output to the 3162B trigger input. Set 8021
frequency to 1 Hz.
10. Verify that output frequency hops with each trigger between 9.375 MHz,
937.5 kHz, 93.75 kHz, and 9.375 kHz. The hop loop repeats as long as
the trigger signal is applied to the trigger input.
11. Remove the 8021 from the 3162B trigger input. Modify the hop source
to DSUB using the command HOP:SOUR DSUB.
12. Pulling the DSUB pins 1 through 8 to +5 V configures the hop step. You
may pull the pins using an external device such as a pattern generator.
Connect pin 1 to +5 V and verify that the output frequency changes to
937.5 kHz. Move the +5 V from pin 1 to pin 2. Observe that output
frequency is now 93.75 kHz.
