Characteristics
Specified Transition Time : <2.5 ns typical (10% to 90% of amplitude)
Specified Aberration : <5% of amp10 mV
Equipment: Oscilloscope, 20dB attenuator
1. Configure the Model 3162B as follows:
Function: Square wave
Frequency: 10 MHz
Amplitude: 3 V
Remote Commands: :RES
:FUNC:SHAP SQU
:FREQ 10e6
:VOLT 3
:OUTP ON
2. Connect the A channel output to the oscilloscope input. Use the
20dB attenuator and set oscilloscope input impedance to 50
Ω
.
3 . Set the oscilloscope and verify that the rise and fall times are less
than 2.5 ns. Verify that overshoot and ringing are less than 5% of
amplitude.
4. Configure Channel B using the following commands:
Remote Commands: :INST:SEL B
:FUNC:SHAP SQU
:VOLT 3
:OUTP ON
5. Connect the B channel output to the oscilloscope input. Use the
20dB attenuator and set oscilloscope input impedance to 50
Ω
.
6. Set the oscilloscope and verify that the rise and fall times are less
than 2.5 ns. Verify that overshoot and ringing are less than 5% of
amplitude.
