Installing LaserWriter 8.x and the QMS 4060
4.x PPD
Although the
QMS 4060
supports LaserWriter 6, 7, and 8, we recom-
mend using LaserWriter 8. For your convenience, LaserWriter 8 and
the
QMS 4060
PPD (a printer description file) are provided with your
printer so you can take advantage of special features.

If you haven't already, follow the instructions given above in
“Installing the Macintosh Printer Utilities.”

Open the PSExec 3.

Folder, then the Drivers folder, then
the System Utilities folder to display the LaserWriter 8.

icon
(among other things).

Drag the LaserWriter 8.
x
icon to your current System Folder.
(The system knows where to copy it.)

Create a Printer Descriptions folder:
System 8 users—Create a folder called Printer Descriptions
inside the Extensions folder inside the System Folder.
System 7 users—Create a folder called Printer Descriptions
inside the Extensions folder inside the System Folder.
System 6 users—Create a folder called Printer Descriptions
inside the System Folder.

Open the PPDs folder inside the Drivers folder in the PSExec
