Setting Up a TN5250 Connection/Device via a Telnet Session

NOTE:
It is not necessary to set up the devd or queue name on the
AS/400 manually or in advance. The configuration and
reset of the PrintNet automatically sets up the devd or
queue name.
Setting Up a TN5250 Connection/Device via a
Telnet Session
In a telnet session, the command “list TN5250” shows the
configured values. To set up a TN5250 connection/device via a
telnet session, use the commands “store TN5250...” and the
following:
NOTE:
The PrintNet sessions can be configured either by a web
browser or by telnet.
1.
Use cmd WRKCTLD *VWS, choice 5, display, enter to list the
number of virtual devices this controller.
2.
Use cmd DSPSYSVAL QAUTOVRT. Note the number of auto-
configured virual devices permitted on the system. This number
must be greater than one.
3.
Use cmd DSPYSYVAL QCHRID. This is the system language
(code page) available.
4.
Use cmd WRKTCPSTS *IFC to deterimine the IP address of
the AS/400. This value is used in setting the PrintNet TN5250
devices.
