Timer Recording
Using a disc with disc timer recording
programs

Load the disc in the recorder.
The display shows
RESERVED
to indicate that the disc
contains timer record program information, and the
Disc Timer Rec
option is automatically set to
On
.
2Switch the recorder into standby.
Timer recording will not work if the recorder is left on!
The recorder will automatically switch on two minutes
before the timer recording is due to start.
• Disc timer recordings become active if you load a
disc containing disc program recordings, or set the
Disc Timer Rec
option to
On
.
• When disc timer recording is active, the standard
timer recordings stored in the recorder become
inactive.
• Standard timer recording becomes active if you
eject a disc that contains disc timer programs or
load a disc that does not contain any disc timer
programs or set
Disc Timer Rec
to
Off
(in this
case, any current disc programs are erased).
• You can’t program disc timer recordings on a
protected disc (see
page 73
).
Child lock
This recorder features a child lock feature that
makes the front panel buttons and controls
inoperative. This is useful when you have set the
timer and don’t want the recorder accidently
turned on before the timer recording has started.

three seconds to lock the controls.

• To unlock the controls, press and hold

STOP
(front panel) for 3 seconds.
• If you press a button on the remote or front panel,
the
LOCK
indicator blinks for a few seconds.
• To cancel a timer recording when the recorder is
locked, first press
7
STOP
(front panel) for 3
seconds, then press

REC
for 3 seconds to cancel
the timer program.
