If you selected the MN setting,
set the recording rate level.
Move the joystick left/right to
adjust the level.
• Use the

move to the previous/next preset
level.
• Press
ENTER
to select the setting
displayed, or just wait until the
screen disappears after a few
seconds.
Setting up for Video
mode recording
When recording a disc in Video
mode, you can select either
V1
(high quality) or
V2
(standard)
recording. The
V2
setting gives
approximately twice as much
recording time as the
V1
setting.

for more information
on Video mode recording.

Load a disc initialized for Video
mode recording.
2Press REC MODE.
• The screen also shows the total
disc recording time and the
remaining recording time on disc
based on the current settings.
2Move the joystick left/right or
press REC MODE to select
either V1 (high quality) or V2

PREVIEW
to see how the
recorded picture will look.
• Press

Adjusting the audio
recording level
You can check the audio level by
looking at the audio level meter on
the front panel display. If it’s too
high or too low, you can adjust it
using the
SMART JOG
on the
front panel.

Press FUNCTION until REC
LEVEL? appears in the display.
2Use the SMART JOG to adjust
the level.
Check the level meter while you do
this to get the best level. If the red
segments at the end of the level meter
are lighting, the audio level is too high.
