7.6.1.5 Intercom system
The intercom system, equipped with a call button on an operating column and a telephone at
the other end, makes communication possible over great distances and is operated in the
usual manner.
For instructions on how to install the intercom system, please refer to the corresponding
operating manual.
7.6.1.6 Induction loops
For the detection of vehicles, induction loops can be installed below the driveway surface in
front of and/or behind the electro-mechanical boom barrier. These loops, with the aide of
loop detectors that are plugged into the control unit (
see “Putting the Boom Barrier into
Operation
”), make it possible to
stop a closing operation (safety loop),
start an opening operation (opening loop), or
start a closing operation (closing loop).
Very useful combinations of these functions are possible, e.g. an automatic opening of the
barrier when a vehicle exits combined with an automatic closing of the barrier once the
vehicle has left the area of the boom barrier. Using the DIP switches of the control unit (see
“Putting the Boom Barrier into Operation”) you can configure the induction loop to perform
the functions desired.
7.6.1.7 Automatic closing
If the electro-mechanical boom barrier is fitted with an auto-closing function, an open barrier
will be automatically closed again after a preset delay of 2 to 90 seconds has lapsed (see
“Putting the Boom Barrier into Operation”).
