Introduction
This document describes the features and functions of the MR5 Series Panel Mount Case Controller
and provides guidelines and instructions to set up, adjust, and troubleshoot the controller.
Application
Important:
Use the MR5 Series Panel Mount Case Controller only as an operating control.
Where failure or malfunction of the MR5 controller could lead to personal injury or property
damage to the controlled equipment or other property, additional precautions must be
designed into the control system. Incorporate and maintain other devices, such as supervisory
or alarm systems or safety or limit controls, intended to warn of or protect against failure or
malfunction of the MR5 controller.

The MR5 controller controls compressor, evaporator fan, and defrost cycles to maintain the
temperature of refrigerated units. The controller facilitates a defrost cycle and uses time or
temperature to control defrost termination. The controller incorporates temperature management,
defrost management, evaporator fan management, and alarm management control functions.

can use this adapter to connect the controller to a Verasys
®
system or a standard BACnet system.
The controller is BACnet BTL certified, which means you can connect to a BACnet system through a
standard RS485, MS/TP BACnet network. You can integrate these models with a BAS to control and
monitor the controller.
