Standard and conditional screens
Standard screens and conditional screens do not have different background colors on the controller
LCD. In this technical bulletin a black background represents a standard screen and a gray
background represents a conditional screen, as shown in the following figure.

Description
1
Standard
screens
The black screens represent the standard status and setup screens.
Standard screens are always available. You can navigate to any of the
standard screens at any time.
2
Conditional
screens
The gray screens represent the conditional status and setup screens
on the controller UI. These screens are available only when you require
them for your refrigeration and defrost application.
The selections you make on the system setup, defrost setup, UI setup,
and alarm setup screens determine the presence of these conditional
screens. The conditional screens appear on the LCD only if you require
them to set up your application or view your application status.
Workflow for setting up the controller
About this task:
The selections and values that you enter on the setup screens define the physical characteristics
and operation of the refrigeration system on the controller. The controller ships with factory default
selections and values already entered on the system screens. In most applications, you must
change the factory default selections and values to meet the specific refrigeration and defrost
requirements of your system.
Some screens are conditional. After you define the system setup parameters in the controller, the
status and setup screens that do not apply to your selections become unavailable. After you define
the refrigeration and defrost parameters, conditional screens that do not apply to your selections
become unavailable.
Use the following workflow to set up your controller for a new refrigeration and defrost application.
See Figure 8 for a view of the controller menu map.
1. Navigate to
SYSTEM SETUP
and access the sub-level menu to define the physical and
operational characteristics of the refrigeration system. See
