PULSED CURRENT WELDING FUNCTION - PULSE BALANCE
The
PATON ADI 200 PAC
with pulse function in the MMA method is useful when welding
aluminium elements as well as thin sheets of stainless or alloyed steel. It is a very good choice for
experienced welders. MMA welding with pulse ensures very good penetration, which is mainly due
to the limitation of the overheating zone of the material. The welder gains better control over the
welding process. The resulting weld is narrower and looks good. An additional advantage of pulse
welding is the absence of chipping. The correct setting of the parameters for pulse welding has a
direct effect on the quality of the weld, in particular, it reduces the porosity and the fineness of the
weld metal grains, thus increasing the quality of the weld.
To activate this function in the device, two parameters must be indicated: current pulsation balance
[PULSE BALANCE]
and pulsation frequency
[PULSE FREQUENCY]
. By default, the current pulsation
balance
[PULSE BALANCE]
as the key parameter is set to 50% and the pulsation frequency
[PULSE
FREQUENCY] to
50 Hz. To enable the function, a current pulsation power greater than zero must be
set, this parameter is set as a percentage of the current colloquial welding current selected.
The mode for changing the value of any function in the current welding method, see section 8.4.
7.6.1 PULSED CURRENT WELDING FUNCTION - PULSE FREQUENCY
If it is required to reduce the effect of heat on the weld, as in the case of welding of thin components,
the welding current should be reduced. In this case, the parameters of the current pulse will be
adjusted automatically according to the set welding current, the operator can control the reduction in
heat input compared to the heat input at the initial welding current by simultaneously changing the
amplitude of the pulse current and its filling in. These parameters must be set individually for
different welding processes, depending on the operator's requirements.
