1. Place the unit in the EJECT mode and measure
the voltage at TP3.
2. If it is out of specification, adjust the VR1.

1. Disconnect the flat cable between the Front
Loading unit and P3 connector in figure 1-6-1.
2. Unscrew the 6 screws and remove the Top Plate.
3. Set the VFK1587 (NEUTRAL Position Fixture) as
shown in figure 1-6-2.
4. Open the “SERVO ADJUST” menu in the Service
Menu and select the item “A07: TENSION”.
Place the unit in the loading completion mode
without cassette tape. (Refer the following note 1)
5. Adjust the base position of Tension Regulator
Board so that the voltage at TP3 is within the
specification.
To adjust the base position of Tension Regulator
Board, loosen the screw (A) and move the lever
(D) by using a non-magnetic screwdriver. To fix the
base, tighten the screw (A).
Note:
Loading Operation without Cassette Tape
1) Turn on the Dip Switch (SW1, pin 2) on
the VOUT/SYS Board.
2) Set the LOCAL/MENU/REMOTE switch
on the Front Panel to the MENU position
so that the VTR is Service Menu Mode.
3) Turn off the REC INHIBIT switch on the
front panel.
4) Select 00: SERVO ADJUST by using “+”
or “-“ button and then press the MODE
button...
5) Select A07: TENSION by using “+” or
“-“button and then press the MODE button
so that the VTR becomes the loading
completion mode without cassette tape.
Change to Normal Operation
1) Press the MODE switch while pressing
the PAGE button so that the SERVICE
MENU changes to the TOP MENU.
2) Set the LOCAL/MENU/REMOTE to
LOCAL or REMOTE position so that the
VTR is placed in the normal mode.
3) Turn the DIP switch (SW1, pin 2) off.
