9-1 Types of Troubleshooting Information
The Customizable Counter Unit records error information when an error
occurs in the Customizable Counter Unit or in the CPU Unit. The following
types of information are recorded in the Customizable Counter Unit.
Error Flags One of the error flags will be turned ON to indicate when an error has
occurred.
Unit Error Codes There are two types of error codes: Special I/O Unit error codes and Custom-
izable Counter Unit error codes.
The Special I/O Unit error codes are general error codes used by the Special
I/O Units. These error codes are placed in the first word of an error record in
the error log. The Customizable Counter Unit error codes provide specific
information about Customizable Counter Unit errors. These error codes are
stored in SR 23500 to SR 23507, in the detailed information in the error log,
and in bits 00 to 07 of n+5 in the CIO Area words allocated in the CPU Unit.
Error Codes
Error Log An error record is created in the error log when an error occurs. Each error
record contains the Special I/O Unit error code, detailed information, and the
time read from the CPU Unit (see note). Up to 11 error records will be stored
in the error log, which is located in DM 6144 to DM 6199.
Note If the time cannot be accessed from the CPU Unit, all zeros will be stored for
the time.
Note Refer to the manuals for the CS-series PLC for information on CPU Unit error
information.
9-2 Error Log
The error log registers the error records for errors that occur in the Customiz-
able Counter Unit. The error information stored in the error log can be used for
troubleshooting.
