ii) Input the following settings for the selected Slave’s output area and
input area.

Sets the starting word allocated.
High/Low
Sets the starting word’s high or low byte. The “High” setting
can be used only when 1 byte is occupied. If two or more
bytes are needed, be sure the setting is “Low.”

When remote I/O communications aren’t being carried out with the
Slave, just explicit message communications, click on the box next to
“Explicit Message Communication Only” so that a check (
n
) appears
in the box. An asterisk will be displayed for the Slave in the “Exp” col-
umn of the Setup Slave display area.
iii) Click on “OK” to allocate the remote I/O allocation settings.
b) Allocation Method 2: Drag Slave from the Setup Slave display area.
Select and drag the Slave from the Setup Slave display area to the
desired byte in the block allocation column to allocate that I/O location to
the Slave. With this method, open areas in each block can be located
while allocating memory.
