Sorting Copies
(Stapler Sorter)
Using the Sort function, you can set the copier to automatically sort the output
sheets by page or by sets.
IMPORTANT

•
The Sort function is available only if the stapler sorter (option) is attached.
•
Note that the sort bins on the stapler sorter (option) may not be able to hold up to their
maximum capacity if the output sheets are curled. Paper may curl depending on the copy
exposure specified, and take up more space than if they were flat. Also, depending on
the degree of the curling, the copier may not be able to sort or staple the output sheets.

You cannot use the Sort function with thin paper (17 to 20-lb bond (64 to 79 g/m
2
)),
transparencies, Special Paper 1, or Special Paper 2.

When <Sort> Is Specified
Copies are automatically sorted into sets arranged in page order, and output into the bins
as follows:

The maximum number of sets that can be specified is 20. If you enter a number greater
than 20, the number is automatically changed to 20 when you press (Start).

The maximum number of copies that can be delivered to each of the bins is as follows:
11" x 17",LGL: 25 sheets (20 to 28-lb bond (80 to 104.7 g/m

15 sheets (60-lb cover or 90-lb index to 110-lb index (157 to 209 g/m

))
LTR, LTRR: 50 sheets (20 to 28-lb bond (80 to 104.7 g/m

))

Once the output exceeds the capacity of the bins, copying will temporarily stop and will
only resume once all the output copies are removed from the bins.
