5.4.1. Compose the Configuration File
Before the stacks can be connected, the Battery Control Panel must be configured properly. Stack
configuration is accomplished via configuration registers, which may be edited either by importing a
configuration file or by manually editing configuration registers. Refer to
about configuration registers and configuration files.
Stack configuration involves two main steps, installing and enabling. Installing a stack allows the
Battery Control Panel to communicate with it, while enabling a stack allows the Battery Control Panel
to control it. Refer to
to learn more about stack states.
Sample Configuration File
As a starting point, a sample configuration file is shown in
https://www.nuvationenergy.com/technical-resources
under the Battery Control Panel section.
The values in the sample configuration file are generic, and should be updated to
accurately reflect the electrical properties of site equipment.
You may use any standard text editor to edit the contents of the configuration file to meet the
requirements of the application. Open the sample config file and edit the following named sections to
match your application for safe initial site setup:
Network Settings
▪
Update the stack IP addresses in this section using the addresses determined by
.
for more information on network settings.
Pack Topology
▪
Update this section to match the topology of the pack, i.e. the number of stacks installed and
enabled. It is recommended to begin with all stacks disabled, then enable one stack at a time
during site commissioning. Refer to
for more information on battery pack topology
settings.
Control Settings
▪
These can be left as the default settings. Refer to section
