8. PTZ CAMERAS
NV-DVR3009 and NV-DVR3016 multiplexers allow users to control up to 9 or 16 cameras connected
in the daisy-chain way through the RS-485 bus. These can be PTZ cameras, standard cameras with
optical or digital zoom. The camera control can be done by means of front panel buttons, remote
control, Internet Explorer browser or
N-Viewer 3000
software. In order to be able to control the
cameras, each camera has to have unique, within the system, address.
The multiplexers have a number of built-in protocols. These are: Novus-C, Novus-C1, Novus-C2,
Pelco-D, LG, Lilin, Samsung.
Attention: All the cameras in the system should have identical protocol and identical baud rate
(see camera user’s manuals).
The description of camera connection applies to the connection of Novus CAMA I. to connect cameras
of other manufacturers please contact technical department and read the camera user’s manual.
8.1 Novus Camera Connecting
PTZ cameras are connected in the daisy-chain way using twisted pair 5th CAT. The cameras are
connected to the
RS-485
telemetry port. The maximum length of the bus cannot exceed 1200m.
To conveniently connect cords the connector can be taken out of the socket. The cameras should be
connected in the following way:

- should be connected to Rx + (Tx+) in the camera

- should be connected to Rx - (Tx-) in the camera
