General and Flow Control Alarms
Alarm Possible Cause Corrective Action
Detector Error Adhesive flowing but product detector
not sensing products Check the production line. Check the
product detector installation/position.
Replace the product detector if failed.
Encoder Phase Error
(quadrature encoder
missing a phase) Loose flow meter sensor wiring
connections at the flow control board Check the flow meter sensor wiring
connections to the flow control board.
Flow meter sensor loose or failed Check the flow meter sensors on the
manifold and re-tighten loose sensors
to hand-tight. If a sensor has failed,
replace the sensor.
If an Encoder Phase Error alarm
continues to occur, replace the flow
control board.
1. Output values for
Add-On/Product,
Total Adhesive, and
Adhesive/Hour show
zero (0) adhesive
while adhesive is
being dispensed Loose wiring connection on the flow
control board located inside the ATS
control box Check all flow control board
connections.
2. Over limit alarm
(Alarm Upper Limit) Operator changed setting:
temperature, pump air pressure,
adhesive pattern, line speed, carton
size, or an ATS setting Re-teach the ATS system for the
current settings. .
Failed solenoid, module, or nozzle Refer to the applicator manual to
troubleshoot applicator problems.
Repair or replace failed components
as needed.
