Voice VLAN
Configure the Voice VLAN settings for ports that carry traffic from IP phones. The Voice
VLAN feature can help ensure that the sound quality of an IP phone is safeguarded from
deteriorating when the data traffic on the port is high.

To display the Voice VLAN Properties page, click

To configure Voice VLAN:
1.
From the
Voice VLAN Status
field, enable or disable Voice VLAN on the switch. If the
switch does not handle traffic from IP phones, the status should be disabled.
2.
From the
Voice VLAN ID
field, select the VLAN to use for voice traffic on the switch. The
VLAN must already exist on the switch. For information about how to create VLANs, see
VLAN Configuration
on page
89.
3.
From the
Class of Service
field, set the CoS tag value to be reassigned for packets
received on the Voice VLAN when Remark CoS is enabled.
4.
From the
Remark CoS
field, select Enable or Disable to reassign the CoS tag value to
packets received on the Voice VLAN.
