4-10 Configuring the System
Mode (Parallel Port)
This option sets the mode for the parallel port. The options
include “Output Only” (AT-compatible mode),
“Bidirectional” (PS/2-compatible mode), “EPP” (Extended
Parallel Port – high speed bidirectional), and “ECP”
(Enhanced Capabilities Port – high speed bidirectional).

CAUTION
An asterisk symbol appearing next to an option
indicates that the selected IRQ is set to conflict
with another device.
Audio
This option configures the onboard audio subsystem.
Select “Enabled” or “Disabled.”
Legacy USB Support
This option configures support for legacy USB devices.
Select “Enabled” or “Disabled.”
To return to the Advanced Menu, press
Esc
.
IDE Configuration Submenu
This submenu can be used to auto-configure or manually
configure the IDE devices, usually hard drives or CD-ROM
drives. Depending on the system you purchased, the available
options include “User,” “Auto,” “CD-ROM,” “ATAPI
Removable,” “None.”
The standard hard drive (drive C) shipped with the system is
configured as “Primary IDE Master.” The standard CD-ROM
drive is configured as “Secondary IDE Master.” To display
the submenu for an IDE device, highlight the appropriate
device field and press
Enter
.
