Upgrading Your Server 9-25
DIMM
Install an additional DIMM (Dual Inline Memory Module) to a DIMM socket on the motherboard in
the server. The motherboard is provided with 12 DIMM card slots.
NOTE:
Up to 192GB of memory (16GB DIMM × 12) can be installed.
Upon factory shipment, no memory is installed.
IMPORTANT:
The DIMM is extremely sensitive to static electricity. Make sure to touch
the metal frame of the server to discharge static electricity from your body
before handling the DIMM. Do not touch the DIMM terminals or on-board
parts by a bare hand or place the DIMM directly on the desk. For static
notes, see page 9-3.
Make sure to use a DIMM authorized by NEC. Installing a third-party DIMM
might cause a failure of the DIMM as well as the server. Repair of the server due
to failures or damage resulted from installing such a board will be charged.
