[9] Instructions for debris removal operation
T h is operation removes t h e debris t h at ma y h ave been introdu c ed during installation f rom t h e water c ir c uit.
Per f orm t h is operation after completion of water- and refrigerant-piping work, air tightness test, evacuation
of refrigerant circuits, refrigerant charging, and electrical work.

2.Turn on t h e brea k er , and t h en open t h e air vent valves on t h e HBC c ontroller and t h e indoor units.
Re f er to t h e Installation Manual f or t h e lo c ation o f air vent valves.
(I f t h ere are air vent valves on t h e f ield-installed pipes , open t h e valves as well.)
3 . S uppl y water f rom t h e su c tion pipe on t h e HBC c ontroller.
1. S et DIP S W 5 -1 (valve opening w h en stopped) , DIP S W 5 -2 (nulli f i c ation o f drain over- f low error f or 9 h ours) f rom
o ff to on.
4 . Check that water comes from each air vent valve, and perform the debris removal operation.
1.I f t h ere are a large amount o f debris in t h e water in t h e f ield-installed pipes , set DIP S W 4 -1 f rom O FF to O N.

S et t h e dipswit ch es 5 -1 and 5 -2 to O FF a f ter c ompletion o f debris removal operation.
2. Fort y minutes a f ter t h e c ompletion o f debris removal operation , t h e LED will indi c ate " Air 0 . " T h e LED indi c ation will
ch ange to " Air1 ," " Air2 ," and " AirE " in order. T h en , t h e water pump will stop.
3 . S top t h e water suppl y, and ch e ck t h at no water is c oming out o f t h e air vent valves. T h en , set t h e dipswit ch 4 -1 f rom O N to O FF.

not pull t h e c lip on t h e c onne c tion o f t h e water pipe wit h pliers so t h at undue f or c e is applied.

f Error appears on t h e LED , turn o ff t h e brea k er , turn it ba ck on , and start over at step 2-1.
4 . S et DIP S W 4 - 6 to on , and swit ch o ff t h e HBC c ontroller. O pen t h e air-vent valve and t h e water-vent valve.
S lowl y open t h e strainer c losest to t h e water suppl y to t h e HBC. (Note t h at i f it is opened f ast , water ma y blast out.)
Remove t h e strainer , c lean its inside , and re f it it. (Fa c tor y setting : DIP S W 4 - 7 "O FF " )
5 .A f ter t h e power to t h e HBC c ontroller is turned on and t h e s y stem starts up , set DIP S W 4 - 6 to O FF and DIP S W 4 - 7 to O N.
Turn o ff t h e power to t h e HBC c ontroller again , and c lean t h e ot h er strainer w h i ch is f urt h est f rom t h e water suppl y .
(A f ter t h e c leaning , set DIP S W 4 - 6 and DIP S W 4 - 7 to O FF.)
6 .Ma k e sure t h e strainers are re-installed.

f it is f ound during an y step t h at air ventilation h as not been c ompleted to t h e desired degree , start over at S tep 2-1.

dis ch arged f rom t h e water pipe. [ Air1 ]
Debris in t h e pipe will a cc umulate into t h e
strainer b y operating all indoor units. [ Air2 to AirE ]
Intermittent operation o f water pump (2 0 min)
