7.1.1 Default Policy Configuration
In the
Firewall General
screen, click
Add
or click an entry’s
Edit
icon to configure a firewall policy.

Default
Action
This displays the default action that the firewall is to take on packets that are traveling in the
selected direction and do not match any of the firewall rules.
Drop
: the Router silently discards the packets without sending a TCP reset packet or an ICMP
destination-unreachable message to the sender.
Permit
: the Router allows the passage of the packets.
Remove
Select entries and click the
Remove
button to delete them.
Edit
Click the
Edit
button to go to the screen where you can edit the rule.
Add
Click
Add
to create a new policy.
Apply
Click
Apply
to save your changes back to the Router.
