6 - ORDINARY MAINTENANCE
6 - 20
• GREASING THE PLUNGER FOR QUICK UNCOUPLING OF ATTACHMENTS
Periodically grease the plunger for quick uncoupling of attachments; grease
makes it easier for plunger "A" to slide, and prevents rust from forming inside the
cylinder chamber.
To perform this operation correctly, please follow the instructions below:
-
lower the telescopic boom
-
stop the engine
-
apply 30 ml (1 fl oz) of specific grease (see paragraph "FUELS AND
LUBRICANTS") with lubricator "B"
-
start the engine, and perform a few plunger lifting cycles (plunger "A"). During
the first cycle plunger "A" may move slowly, since the grease applied needs
to flow from the plunger to the spring. This delay is more significant at low room temperature. Excess grease inside the
chamber is expelled from the side of plunger "A" during the first cycle.
• AXLE SHAFT BEARINGS
The grease nipples of the axle shaft support bearings are located in the upper
part of the two axles, and require the following maintenance:
-
stop the machine
-
apply 0,5 fl oz (15ml) of specific grease (see paragraph "FUELS AND
LUBRICANTS") with lubricator "A"
-
repeat the operation for the other axle shafts of the machine
-
Perform a few forward/reverse drive cycles with steered wheels so as to
evenly spread grease inside the axle shafts
EVERY 500 HOURS OR EVERY 6 MONTHS
• HYDRAULIC SUMP BLEED FILTER
Replacement of the filter cartridge:
-
Unscrew the fastening screw (1)
-
Remove the cap (2)
-
Remove the cartridge (3) and replace it with a new one having the same
characteristics
-
Reinstall the cap (2).
-
Tighten the fastening screw (1)
-
Check that the lower washer is in the correct position (4).
Start the machine and check for any leak in the hydraulic system.
• REDUCTION HUB OIL
To check the reduction hub oil level, the machine shall be in such a position that
level plug "A" is vertically aligned with the wheel centre (see picture).
-
Remove plug "A" by using a proper hexagonal wrench
-
Check that reduction hub oil reaches up to the hole edge.
-
If necessary, top up specific oil (see "OIL TABLE" in chapter "STICKERS
WITH CONTROL DESCRIPTIONS - LEAFLETS IN THE CABIN")
-
Reinstall and tighten plug "A".
NOTE! Repeat the same operation for each reduction hub of the
machine.
