Department Call
What’s this?
•
A common number can be assigned to a group of persons doing same kind of job.
•
This feature is very useful in service industry where few homogenous groups of persons performing similar
type of work are formed. Now for the caller, it is not important to talk to a particular person only, rather he
wants solution for his problem. Now to get solution he has to dial a station, if that station is busy, he has to
again dial another station and this may go on if more people of the group are busy. Instead, if there is a
common code for this group, it would be easy for the caller to dial a code and call goes to any of the free
stations of that group. This feature precisely satisfies this need. Here you have to dial a code and the call will
land on first of the free stations from the group.
•
However, if required a particular person can also be contacted by dialing his station number.
•
Maximum 10 groups can be defined. Each group has a unique code. The access codes for group 0 to 9 are
from 3980 to 3889.
How it works?
•
You can program maximum 8 stations in a group.
•
Maximum 10 such groups can be formed.
•
A station can also be put in any group.
•
A station can also be kept out of all groups.
•
Once station can be programmed in more the one group.
•
When a fresh call is made on a group, the system locates first free station in a group. The call is routed on
this station. Accordingly, incoming traffic will be more on the first few stations in a group.
•
A new incoming call will go on later station if all previous stations are busy.
•
Group call can be made even from DID.
•
If groups are not programmed, we get error tone when we make a department call.
•
No group of stations is defined by factory default; hence one cann’t access any station by dialing group code
unless it is programmed.
