Chapter 13.
Storing to memory
Press [STORE] twice (double click) once you are ready with your scene, sequence or preset. The store
menu appears on the main LCD.
Note: Update is only visible when you are editing an existing show element.
Xciter presents you with two options to store your work. This depends on how you are planning to use the
console.
1.
Most people want to store a show element and assign it to a cue button or playback fader immediately.
When you have a lot of different elements, this is the easiest and quickest way to work.
2.
In some rare cases, you may have a show where you reuse one or more scene many times. In this case,
it is better to store it once to memory, and then assign it to the cue buttons or faders later.
13.1
Store as sequence
13.1.1
Assign directly to cue
1.
In the store dialog, press the softkey {Cue} with the arrow coming from {Sequence}.
2.
Use the page keys and general purpose number keys to select the cue button where you want to store the
sequence. Xciter shows the current BG scene (if there is any) in the fader LCD and the current sequences
in the main LCD.
3.
Use the soft keys next to the slots A, B, C or D to select an empty sequence slot.
4.
Press [ENT] to confirm. Xciter suggests a default name. If you agree to this name, press [ENT] again to
confirm. Or hold [CLEAR] until all characters are deleted. Use the general purpose number keys to input the
new name. Press [ENT] to confirm your new name.
Upon confirmation, Xciter stores all the scenes in the editor to the sequence in memory and assigns it to the
selected cue button and sequence slot.
If you are using the same sequence a lot in the show, store and assign it only once to conserve memory.
You can assign it to other cue buttons in run mode (see ‘Extended cue dialog’ in ‘Run mode features’ on
page 99). If you store and assign the same sequence to multiple buttons instead, Xciter will store a new file
for each of those buttons, which is a waste of memory.
13.1.2
Assign directly to playback fader
1.
In the store dialog, press the softkey {Pbpage} with the arrow coming from {Sequence}.
2.
Use the centre top jog wheel to scroll through the playback pages. The current page number is displayed in
the main LCD.
3.
Press a bump button under an empty playback fader to select that position.
4.
Press [ENT] to confirm. Xciter suggests a default name. If you agree to this name, press [ENT] again to
confirm. Or hold [CLEAR] until all characters are deleted. Use the general purpose number keys to input the
new name. Press [ENT] to confirm your new name.
