Weigh Bin Clearances
– Free Movement of Weigh Bin
Carefully examine all the parts of the weigh bin and the bin hanging bracket to be
sure that the weigh bin or weigh bin hanging bracket does not come in contact with
windows or guards. Free space should exist on all sides of the weigh bin. A light
press down of the weigh bin should show a change in the weight readout. Remove
the touch and the display should return to exactly the weight reading, +/- 1 gram. If
any interference with the weigh bin or weigh bin hanging bracket is detected, it must
be corrected for accurate operation.
Slide Valves
Slide valves must open and close freely, quickly, and completely to maintain
accuracy. If slide valves jam slightly or do not move freely, performance will be
affected. Test movement during LOTO without air pressure. Check for wear on the
slide valve guide rods. Check cylinder clevis adjustment for correct closing of the
valve. A valve should close just enough to block the hole, but no further. Check that
the clevis pin connecting the air cylinder for wear.
Mix Chamber
Inspect Mix Blades for damage or wear. Over time, blades can wear and become
sharp. Replace damaged, worn or sharp mix blades.
Load Cell Zero and Full Weight Calibration
Loadcells should be routinely inspected and calibrated.
