5. Remove the radiator cap and open radiator drain valve
(A) at the bottom of the engine side of the radiator
lower tank.
IMPORTANT:
Place a drain pan (about 8 U.S. gallons [30 liters]) under
the engine and radiator and use a de
fl
ector or hose to
prevent coolant running onto frame.

6. Close the heater shut-off valve and disconnect hose on
heater side of valve.
7. Open valve to drain the block.
8. When system is drained, reattach hose on valve.

9. Close radiator drain valve (A) at the bottom of the
engine side of the radiator lower tank.
10. Fill system with clean water through the radiator and
replace radiator cap.
