A 2.1
Manoeuvre availability
The availability of the manoeuvres and their order in the submenu depend on
the settings on the configuration level of your ventilator (e.g., whether or not a
particular manoeuvre has been enabled). Up to 8 manoeuvres can be assigned to
the manoeuvre buttons.
Please contact your Service engineer if a particular manoeuvre is not available.

HOLD manoeuvres
A 2.2.1
Inspiratory Hold (Insp. Hold)
You reach all the Hold manoeuvres by pressing the “Manoeuvres” button.
The inspiratory hold manoeuvre is a function to extend and hold the inspira
-
tory pressure (e.g., for hyperinflation) for up to 30 seconds at the end of the
inspiration phase. Set the desired hold time and finally start the manoeuvre. The
remaining time of the manoeuvre is displayed in a bar chart. The manoeuvre can
be terminated prematurely at any time.
Please note that the inspiratory hold manoeuvre will be aborted when the set
maximum tidal volume V
T
max is reached. This means that the time can be con
-
siderably shorter.
With the parameter “Flow active On/Off”, the inspiratory hold manoeuvre can
be used for diagnostic (e.g., measurement of plateau pressure) as well as for ther
-
apeutic purposes (e.g., recruitment).
•
Flow active “On” means that for therapeutic purposes an active flow is
switched on to stabilize the set inspiratory pressure.
• Flow active “Off” means that the valves are closed for the diagnosis and the
pressure situation can be assessed directly without any additional flow.
