THX ULTRA2 SUB

Indicates whether or not the subwoofer connected to the Main
Zone audio output connector labeled Sub is Ultra2 certified. Select
the ON setting if the connected subwoofer is Ultra2 certified and
the OFF setting if the connected subwoofer is not Ultra2 certified.
When set to ON, the CUSTOM and THX SETUP menu BGC param-
eter (next column) can be used to adjust boundary gain compen-
sation. When set to OFF, the BGC parameter is not available (N/A).

BGC (Boundary Gain Compensation)

Adjusts boundary gain compensation when the CUSTOM and THX
SETUP menu THX ULTRA2 SUB parameter is set to ON. When the
BGC parameter is set to ON, a high-pass 55Hz filter is applied to all
Main Zone listening modes and audio output connectors. When
set to OFF, no filter is applied to Main Zone listening modes and
audio output connectors. When the parameter setting is N/A, the
THX ULTRA2 SUB parameter is set to OFF and boundary gain
compensation cannot be adjusted
.
Note:
BGC compensates for increased bass energy that is
caused by the proximity of the speakers to the
listening room walls.

The BGC parameter is not
available when the THX
ULTRA2 SUB parameter is
set to OFF.
The THX ULTRA2 SUB and BGC parameters are available
on the CUSTOM and THX SETUP menus. When a parameter
setting is adjusted on one menu, it is automatically
adjusted on the other menu as well.
