5. Update the server configuration.

• Reconfigure the disk arrays if you have installed or removed a hot-swap drive or a RAID adapter. See

Note:
Make sure the latest version of ThinkSystem M.2 with Mirroring Enablement Kit Firmware is applied to
avoid virtual disk/array missing after system board replacement.
Hardware disassembling for chassis recycle

Step 1. If applicable, remove the security bezel (see “Remove the security bezel” on page 137 ).
Step 2. Remove the power supply units (see “Remove a hot-swap power supply unit” on page 124 ).
Step 3. Remove the top covers (see “Remove the top covers” on page 168 ).
Step 4. Remove the air baffle (see “Remove the air baffle” on page 43 ).
Step 5. Remove the fan cage assembly (see “Remove the fan cage assembly” on page 72 ).
Step 6. Remove both PCIe riser assemblies (see “Remove the PCIe riser assemblies and adapters” on
page 100 ).
Step 7. Remove the M.2 boot adapter (see “Remove the M.2 boot adapter and drives” on page 90 ).
Step 8. Remove the trayless drive cage (see “Remove the drive cage and trayless drives” on page 156 ).
Step 9. Remove the power backplane (see “Remove the power backplane” on page 120 ).
Step 10. Remove the OCP adapter (see “Remove the OCP Ethernet adapter” on page 95 ).
Step 11. Remove the system board (see “Remove the system board assembly” on page 149 ).
Step 12. Remove the security bezel cable module (see “Remove the security bezel cable module” on page
143 ).
Step 13. Recycle the chassis in compliance with local regulations.
