Procedure
Step 1. Make preparations for this task.
1. If applicable, remove the security bezel (see “Remove the security bezel” on page 137 ).
2. Remove the top covers (see “Remove the top covers” on page 168 ).
3. Remove the air baffle (see “Remove the air baffle” on page 43 ).
4. Remove both PCIe riser assemblies (see “Remove the PCIe riser assemblies and adapters” on
page 100 ).
5. Remove the trayless drive cage (see “Remove the drive cage and trayless drives” on page
156 ).
6. Remove the system board assembly if necessary (see “Remove the system board assembly”
on page 149 ).
Step 2. Remove the two screws that secure the Firmware and TPM 2.0 Security Module to the system
board, and remove the module.

After this task is completed
• Install a replacement unit (see “Install the Firmware and TPM 2.0 Security Module” on page 167 ).
• If you are instructed to return the component or optional device, follow all packaging instructions, and use
any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
