Procedure
Step 1. Make preparations for this task.
1. If applicable, remove the security bezel (see
“Remove the security bezel” on page 137
).
2. Remove the top covers (see
“Remove the top covers” on page 168
).
3. Remove the air baffle (see
“Remove the air baffle” on page 43
).
4. Remove the fan cage assembly (see
“Remove the fan cage assembly” on page 72
).
5. Remove both PCIe riser assemblies (see
“Remove the PCIe riser assemblies and adapters” on
).
6. Remove the M.2 boot adapter (see
“Remove the M.2 boot adapter and drives” on page 90
).
7. Remove the OCP adapter (see
“Remove the OCP Ethernet adapter” on page 95
8. Remove both power supply units (see
“Remove a hot-swap power supply unit” on page 124
).
9. Remove the power backplane (see
“Remove the power backplane” on page 120
10. Remove the intrusion switch cable (see
“Remove the intrusion switch with cable” on page 77
11. Remove all the memory modules (see
“Remove a memory module” on page 84
).
12. Remove the Root of Trust Module (see
“Remove the Firmware and TPM 2.0 Security Module”
13. Remove the processor and heat sink (see
“Remove the processor and heat sink” on page 127
14. Disconnect all the cables from the system board.
Step 2. Pull the plunger up; then, hold the plunger and the handle, and slide the system board slightly
forward to disengage it from the chassis.

Step 3. Rotate the right end of the system board up to remove the system board from the chassis.
