10.3 Removing a defective lamp

Switch off the instrument and unplug it.

Unplug the plug (1) from the defective lamp.

Push the tab (2) downwards.
X
X
Extend the lamp base (3) towards the rear.
X
X
Pull the lamp downwards and carefully remove it.
X
X
Do not rest the new lamp on the lamp body tip (5).
X
X
Do not touch the glass bulb or lamp reflector.

Inserting the new lamp:
When introducing the new lamp, ensure that the lamp body
is not damaged.

Push the tab (2) downwards.
X
X
Introduce the lamp head section into the guide cutout.
X
X
Engage the lamp base (3) in the tab (2).
The tabs must snap into place securely in the lamp base.
After it is inserted, the lamp must be aligned accurately to
attain optimum output and cooling.
To check the optimum alignment, the lamp body has a
notch (6) and the lamp mount has a screw (4).
If the lamp is installed correctly, the ceramic body (7) must
rest entirely on the lamp mount (8) with no visible gap.

Reinsert the plug (1).

Fold up the illumination unit (9) and screw the rotary knob (10)
under the control/illumination unit back in.
Make sure that the lamp cable is not pinched.

Every xenon lamp has a predetermined service life. The risk
of lamp defects increases during operation if this service life
is exceeded.

X
Replace the lamps after an operating duration of
500 hours.
