The red line in the brightness adjustment bar shows the maximum
limit of the brightness that can be set depending on the current
working distance.
The brightness cannot be increased beyond the red line.
When the working distance is reduced by too little at a set
brightness, the brightness is reduced automatically.
This safety function can be deactivated by clicking the
"Brightcare™" button. A dialog opens in which you have to
confirm that you want to deactivate the safety function.
If the BrightCare™ safety function is deactivated, the color of the
"BrightCare" button changes from green to yellow.
WARNING
With a short focal length, the light source of the illumination
unit may be too bright for the operating physician and the
patient!

Begin with the lower-intensity light source and slowly
increase it until the operating physician has an optimally
illuminated image.

Reactivating the Brightcare™ safety function:

Click the yellow "BrightCare" button once more.
BrightCare™ is activated and the button becomes green again.
8.1 Toggling the illumination
WARNING
Failure of the illumination can be dangerous for the patient!

If one of the xenon lamps fails, switch to the other one
immediately.
• Replace a defective xenon lamp at the next opportunity.
• Never begin an operation with only one functioning
xenon lamp.

Push the illumination toggle switch (1) from the defective
xenon lamp to the intact xenon lamp.
