7.2 Cleaning the optical accessories

Inspect the cleanliness of the eyepieces and objective as well as
any photo or TV attachments as appropriate.

Remove dust and dirt.
7.3 Mounting the accessories

The Leica M525 F20/CT20 surgical microscope may be
connected to a grounded safety socket only.

Danger of tilting if load exceeds permitted load!

The load placed on the microscope interface must not
exceed 6.5 kg.

Connect the power cable.

Switch on the main switch.

Engage the footbrakes (see chapter 7.1).

Equip the Leica M525 F20/CT20 surgical microscope with all
accessories for use.

Position handles as needed for the forthcoming operation.

Connect the provided footswitch and check the settings.

otherwise luminosity will decrease rapidly.

both xenon lamps for proper function.
Footswitch/handswitch

Test all footswitch/handswitch functions.

Check zoom and focus functions.
TV camera/monitor and still-photo camera

Check the image on the TV monitor.

Align TV and SLR camera with the microscopic image.

For photography: Insert daylight film.

Attach sterile components and sterile drapes.

Release brakes and check balancing.
