( 3 ) Adjusting developing bias voltage (reference)
The developing bias voltage is factory-adjusted. Be sure to perform the following
adjustment only when carrier or background appears on the copy image after VR 202
control on the high-voltage transformer PCB had been turned accidentally.

Procedure
Is the developing bias
voltage specified value?
Yes
No
Remove the 1P connector of the
developing bias from the DB OUT
on the high-voltage transformer
PCB, and contact the tester’s
positive terminal to DB OUT.
Contact the tester’s negative ter-
minal to an uncoated part of the
frame.
Turning the VR 202 to adjust
specified voltage (280 V DC
±
5 V).
Press the print key.
Enter 10 with the numeric keys.
Enter simulation mode.
Start
Turn the control counterclockwise to de-
crease the value and clockwise to in-
crease it.
If the developing bias is set below speci-
fication, background appears. If it is
above specification, the copy image is
light.
End
Press the stop/clear key.
Exit simulation mode.
