3-3-6 Developing section
( 1 ) Adjusting the position of the magnetic brush (developing roller) (reference)
Perform the following adjustment if the image is abnormally light.
* Before starting this adjustment, ensure that the doctor blade is installed correctly and
that the correct amount of developer is present.
Procedure
1. Remove the image formation unit from the machine. (see page 3-3-29)
2. Remove the 1-pin connector for the developing bias at the rear side of the image
formation unit from the magnetic roller retainer.
3. Loosen the screw of the magnetic roller retainer.
4. Move the magnetic roller retainer to the left and right and adjust the distance
between the top of the magnetic brush and the bottom of the developing unit
housing is 18 mm (reference).
* If the distance is smaller than the specified value, carrier or background appears on
the copy image.
5. After adjustment, make a test copy to check for performance.
