12 Optional equipment
12.1 Hopper extension sets
The hopper capacity of the spreader can be increased with the addition of an
extension set. Three- and four-sided extension sets with various capacities are
available for models MDS 735 and MDS 935 (see section. 4.1 "Technical Speci-
fication Data MDS"). The extension sets are bolted on to the basic unit.
12.2 Hopper cover
Spreading material can be protected against rain and humidity by the addition of
a hopper cover. Implements that are already equipped with extension sets can
also be fitted with a hopper cover.
Hopper covers can be folded back, as they are bolted to the hopper or to the
extension set with a foldable hinge bar.
12.3 Hopper sieve
Foreign particles or large solidified fertiliser lumps can be prevented from ente-
ring the hopper with the addition of a hopper sieve. This could avoid possible
damage to metering outlets and disc vane elements.
12.4 RFZ 7M (all MDS fertiliser spreaders except MDS 55)
This 7-row spreading unit is suitable for spreading dry prilled fertiliser in rows
next to existing crops.
The row spreading unit is supplied with its own instruction manual and as-
sembly instructions.
12.5 Double acting mechanism
It is possible to operate the units on tractors equipped with only one control val-
ve when a double acting mechanism is fitted to models MDS 735 K and MDS
935 K.
12.6 Tele-Space
The Tele-Space pto shaft allows additional free room (approx. 300mm) between
spreader and tractor, to facilitate easier attachment.
12.7 Practical Test Kit PtK
To check the spread pattern in the field.
12.8 Fertiliser identification system FiS
Quick and uncomplicated determination of correct spreader set-up for unknown
fertilisers.
