TRAVELLING ON PUBLIC HIGHWAY
WARNING
●
When driving the machine on a road, raise the outriggers
and/or dozer blade and insert the lock pins to prevent
them from moving.
●
Position Work Equipment to suit local road travel regula-
tions.
●
The control lever lock switch (located on the monitor
panel) must be engaged when travelling on the Public
Highway to prevent accidental use of the work equip-
ment.
●
Engage the mechanical swing lock when driving on pub-
lic roads, refer to "MECHANICAL SWING LOCK (120)"
●
It is a legal requirement in some countries to use a
mechanical swing lock when driving on public roads.
●
Switch on warning beacon if applicable to local road
travel regulations.
●
Lock off (A) Bucket cylinder - both sides & (B) Arm Cyl-
inder - rear of boom, with isolation valves provided.

Before travelling on a Public Highway, with the safety lock
lever lowered (in the UNLOCK position) engage the control
lever lock switch to prevent accidental use of the work equip-
ment, the rear brake lights will now become active.
2.
Before travelling fold the work equipment, and raise to 40 - 50
cm from the ground.
3.
Before travelling on a public highway, please understand local
legal requirements for travel space envolope, refer to "TRAV-
ELLING POSTURE (204)"
4.
Ensure machine is free of rocks and mud before travelling on
a Public Highway.
WARNING
●
If it becomes necessary to tow the machine the operator
must not operate the travel system when the transmis-
sion dis-engagement pin is rotated.
Failure to comply with this notice will result in severe
damage to the transmission unit.
●
If you are uncertain about how to tow the machine,
please contact your local komatsu distributor for advice.
