6.2.
Optional Functions
for KLplus, KLbasic
By connecting an optional cable to the X3 or X4 connection, the functionality of the controller can be
extended.
The following extensions are possible:
•
Connection of a dosing pump (
X3/X3.5) only for KLplus,
•
Connection of a UV reactor (
X3/X3.8) only for KLplus.
•
Connection of an external alarm device (
X4),
•
Monitoring for a Contactor for the AC Compressor (
X4) only for KLplus.
for KL24plus KL24base
Because the valve cable X1 is permanently connected to the controllers by default, some functionality
can be easily extended without an additional cable.
The following extensions are possible without additional cables:
•
Connection of a cooling fan (
X1.0)
•
Connection of an external alarm device (
X1.5)
•
Connection of a dosing pump (
X1.6) only for KL24plus.
The following extensions are possible with an additional cable:
•
Connection of a UV reactor (
X3) only for KL24plus.
6.2.1. Connection of an external alarm device
Using the potential-free output X4 on KLplus and KLbasic or the connector X1.5 on the valve cable X1 on
KL24plus and KL24base, an external alarm device, such as a warning light mounted outside the cabinet,
can be connected.
For details, please see
MoAnl 10 External Alarm Devices
.
6.2.2. Connection of a contactor for switching the compressor
For the event that the built-in compressor has a power consumption greater than 6 amps, an additional
contactor is mounted in the cabinet, which can control the compressor. Using the input contactor
monitoring X4 (
only for KLplus
) the switching state of the contactor is monitored.
6.2.3. Connection of a UV reactor
Using port X3, connector X3.8 on KLplus or output X3 on KL24plus, a downstream UV reactor can be
connected to the controller. For details, please see the Appendix or
MoAnl 06 UV Sanitation Stage
in
the installation instructions.
6.2.4. Phosphate precipitation with metering pump
Precipitant
Attention:
Poly-aluminium chloride (PAC) is harmful when swallowed and irritating
to the skin. There is a risk of severe eye injury.
When combined with alkali metals, allyl chloride, and ethylene oxide, there is a hazard
of explosion.
Consult the appropriate Material Safety Data Sheet before using phosphate
precipitants!
Wear protective clothing when handling poly-aluminium chloride.
Keep precipitant container away from unauthorized access and children.
