Meter Pulse Mode:
can be used if meter pulse information or advice of charge
(sent by the carrier) is received through the lines. In this case, the unit
computes the cost of each call multiplying the number of meter pulses by the
unit price.
-
Duration Mode:
This mode is used when meter pulses are not available. In
such a case, the unit estimates the cost of each call according to its duration
and destination, taking into account possible reduced tariffs (night, week-end).
-
Mixed Mode:
A combination of the two previous methods. If the number of
pulses for a given call is not zero, the unit will calculate the cost according to the
Pulse method, if not it will apply the duration-based method.

In case of a duration-based costing
, it is not possible to know exactly the time of
the start of the conversation, i.e. when and whether the called party has answered
the call.
The unit considers the call as successful when its duration reaches a threshold
called validation time.
The validation time is predetermined with different values for each kind of call (local,
national, international). You can modify them introducing a new value (from 0 to 60
seconds) and pressing
OK
to confirm the modification.
The unit stores and bills a call if its duration > Validation time.
