for information about the modules that support transparent bridging.
•
Each configured line can transmit data to and receive data from your switch
connections.
Table 28 on page 472 lists the prerequisite tasks for configuring transparent bridging and
the resources that you can consult to learn how to perform these tasks.

•
A diagram of your network topology indicating the names of the bridge groups and
bridge group interfaces that you need to create
•
On ERX7xx models, ERX14xx models, and ERX310 router, the slot and port numbers
of the line modules over which you want to configure transparent bridging
•
On E120 and E320 routers, slot, adapter, and port numbers of the IOAs over which you
want to configure transparent bridging
•
Types and specifiers for the interfaces and subinterfaces over which you want to create
bridge group interfaces
Configuration Tasks
To configure transparent bridging on an E Series router:
1.
Create a bridge group.
2.
(Optional) Set optional attributes for the bridge group.
3.
Configure bridge group interfaces.
4.
(Optional) Configure nondefault subscriber policies for bridge interfaces.
5.
(Optional) Enable concurrent routing and bridging.
6.
(Optional) If CRB is enabled, configure explicit routing for IP, MPLS, or PPPoE
protocols.
