Prior to decommissioning
Procedure
• Thoroughly clean the truck.
• Test the brakes.
• Check the hydraulic oil level and replenish if necessary,
(see "Checking the hydraulic oil level" on page 157).
• Apply a thin layer of oil or grease to any non-painted mechanical components.
• Lubricate the truck according to the lubrication schedule, (see "Lubrication
Schedule" on page 148).
• Disconnect the battery, clean it and grease the terminals.

In addition, follow the battery manufacturer’s instructions.
• Spray all exposed electrical contacts with a suitable contact spray.

During decommissioning
Every 2 months:

• Charge the battery, (see "Starter battery" on page 179).
CAUTION!
Risk of battery damage
It is important to charge the battery regularly as otherwise automatic discharge will
result in battery depletion. The ensuing sulphating will damage the battery.
