Strictly observe the following precautions on the operations of this unit:
●
The life of the fishfinder is determined by the hours of its operation. When not using this unit
even for only a brief time, turn off the power switch to let the unit rest.
●
The use of the fishfinder at a high output level means that yourself also suffers noise
interference correspondingly. It is suggested that the output level be reduced using the
power reduction unit (PDC), instead of reducing the setting of the gain control provided on
the receiving amplifier.
●
For a fishfinder that can emit frequencies of two cycles or more, it is advised that a
frequency be selected with the frequency selector to minimize any noise induced to the
fishfinder.
●
Long outgoing pulses deteriorate range resolution on video. If your fishfinder has a pulse
selector, select a pulse width as short as possible.
●
The use of the transducer at its wider angle of orientation reduces the ultrasonic emissive
power in the necessary direction because more noise is picked up and because fish location
detection accuracy decreases. If your fishfinder has a frequency selector, select a frequency
as high as possible and use the transducer at an angle-of-orientation as narrow as possible.
●
Fishing areas are common property of all people engaged in fisheries. You should refrain
from emitting ultrasonic waves in the direction that other vessels are inconvenienced.
Horizontal fishfinders, in particular, should be operated so that they do not disturb the
fishfinders of other vessels.
