Adjusting gain ([GAIN] controls)
Adjusting gain with the [GAIN] controls
The gain level of the receiver can be adjusted by rotating the [GAIN]
controls.
Two [GAIN] controls are provided: for high-frequency use and for low-
frequency use.
Depending on the desired frequency display mode, adjust your receiver
gain using the appropriate [GAIN] control. To increase gain, rotate the
[GAIN] control clockwise, namely, in the direction of larger settings. The
standard setting of the control is "3" or "4".
Display changes as follows according to the selected gain level:
When the gain level is too low, fish detection performance will
deteriorate because of reduced resolution.
When the gain level is appropriate, the second echo from the bottom
will be displayed to facilitate fish detection.
When the gain level is too high, fish detection performance will
deteriorate since the underwater plankton and dirt are displayed.
