3.OPERATIONS
To specify the bottom identification level in water depth display
mode (DEPTH) or in bottom-based expand mode (LOCK), select
BOTTOM DECISION LEVEL from the INITIAL SETTING submenu
by independent operations. For further details, see "Adjusting the
bottom identification level (BOTTOM DECISION LEVEL)" on page
56.
Select WHITE LINE levels as follows:

Display the FISH FINDER SETTING menu by pressing the
and
keys together.

Move control to "WHITE LINE" by pressing the
or
key,
and display the WHITE LINE submenu by pressing the
key.

Select either HI (high-frequency) or LO (low-frequency) by
pressing the
or
key.

Set a level at which discriminate between the sea bottom and fish
schools, by pressing the
or
key. The level can be set in
steps of 0.1 from 0.0 to 10. The setting of 0.0 makes the WHITE
LINE function invalid.

If necessary, select a WHITE LINE level for the other frequency
as well by repeating steps

and
4
above.

Press the
MARK
key to return to the FISH FINDER SETTING menu.

Press the
GRAPH
key to return to the fishfinding display.

Descriminating between the Sea Bottom and Fish Schools (WHITE LINE)
You can reject signals (colors) in the order of descending signal intensity
to discriminate between the sea bottom and fish schools or determine
the volume of a fish school. To monitor fish groups on and around the
sea bottom, set the white line to erase the strongest signal that
represents the sea bottom (reddish brown). To make this function
invalid, set "WHITE LINE" to 0.0.
