lead to the loss of corrosion protection and
is therefore not recommended.
Caution
If an antifreeze solution is not used
during frosty weather, the coolant must
be drained after work to prevent damage
from freezing. Use the procedure under
draining the cooling system.
Radiator and oil cooler
Check the radiator and oil cooler
fins for blockage - Flexible mainte-
nance.
The radiator and oil cooler fins must
be checked for blockage, they can be
cleaned by blowing with compressed air
or a high pressure washer not exceeding
7 bar (100 lbf/in
2
). Clean from the rear of
the radiator and remove the side panels to
allow debris to escape. Fins blocked with
oily substance may be cleaned with a de-
tergent solution, preferably applied with a
high pressure washer.
Clutch
Note
When the tractor enters service, or
has new clutch linings fitted the clutch
must be carefully bedded in (See op-
eration section pages 34 and 35). The
clutch pedal linkage must be checked
frequently during the first 50 hours and
necessary adjustments made immedi-
ately. Subsequent checks must be made
at 100 hour intervals.
Main clutch adjustment (Fig. 35)
Check the clutch adjustment every
100 hours.
1. Measure the clutch pedal free travel ‹A›,
this should be 10-15 mm at the pedal
pad. (A, distance between clutch arm
and gearbox housing wall is about 3
mm)
2. If the pedal free travel is out of adjust-
ment turn the adjuster screw (2 Fig.
35) at the end of the clutch rod left
or right to adjust pedal free travel to
within the limits given.
3. Press the clutch pedal down through
its full travel five times, recheck the
free travel and readjust if necessary.
